This is actually an old one, taken near the Kingaroy observatory in Queensland in early 2016. The area around Kingaroy hosts a number of different observatories, and prior to taking these shots we’d spent an amazing hour at the Kingaroy Observatory , looking at various astrophysical phenomenon through telescopes.
Following the observing, we wandered out into a field to get some shots of the stars, just as bank of cloud began rolling over the sky, coloured red by the lights of nearby Kingaroy. Not ideal for stargazing, but it did rather set the sky alight.
